FACILITIES
Britton Peak operates at Big Lick Farm, contained within the Oak Ridge Training Complex, Morristown, Florida. Our stable is located at this premier training center for thoroughbred racehorses just outside Ocala, FL.
This State-of-The Art facility offers the very best in amenities; to provide your horse the best care anywhere in the country. Although the Ocala area is brimming with training centers, our location offers unmatched facilities and options for all your conditioning & boarding needs.
From our Britton Peak stable headquarters, we have access to a 1-Mile dirt track & a 7/8 Mile turf course. The dirt track has a regulation size 6-stall starting gate. There are two climate-controlled viewing stands, one on each side of the track.
Both courses are looked after with diligent care. Having the ability to train for both ‘dirt’ and ‘turf’ on these immaculate courses at one location, obviously gives us an advantage over many other limited training centers.
Everything you need in one place…
In addition to having direct access to two superb training tracks, Big Lick Farm also offers access to other training aids onsite. These include a 38˚ saltwater ECB Spa, three 10-bay Eurocisers, a vibrating Vitafloor, and two swimming ponds – plus hotwalking machines and round pens specific to each barn.
These aids augment our own training program, and have proven to be very useful in maintaining day-to-day fitness, maximizing the ‘warm-up’ and ‘cool down’ stages during training sessions on the track, preventing injury, and fast-tracking rehabilitation.
Britton Peak has direct access to an Official Starter who can help school horses in the starting gate and issue gate cards. We also have access to a Horse Identifier who can identify and tattoo horses.
